Independent Adoption and Fostering Panel Chair

Our adoption and fostering panel is a virtual panel and held on the second Tuesday of the month. There are two vice chairs who are able to step in when required.

Attendance at one virtual or in person training sessions per year will be required which will be paid. Diagrama also offers an induction programme and access to relevant online training required to undertake the role. Panel Chairs are also involved in annual appraisals, recruitment and attend two annual Panel Management Meetings.

Salary: £350 (1/2 day) £450 (full day)

Diagrama panel has an oversight of recruitment and assessment of prospective adopters and foster carers. Panel members together make recommendations on the suitability of applicants and the ongoing approval of our foster carers and early permanence carers.

We are seeking to appoint to the role of Independent Panel Chair, seeking applicants who are experienced in adoption and fostering and have experience in the operation of panels and in chairing meetings. Applicants can be from a range of disciplines, such as medical/health background, education or registered Social Workers.

Applicants should have relevant knowledge of the diverse needs of children who are Looked After and adopted and should be passionate about making a difference to the lived experience of children.

Adoption and Fostering Panel Member

Our adoption and fostering panel is a virtual panel and held on the second Tuesday of the month. The time commitment will be approximately 4-6 panel sessions per year, more if needed.

Attendance at 1 virtual or in person training sessions per year will be required which will be paid. Diagrama also offers an induction programme and access to the relevant online training required to undertake the role.

Salary: £150 for half/day and £250 full day

Our independent panel members sitting on our Adoption and Fostering Panel play a very important role at Diagrama by considering applications from those wishing to become adoptive parents, foster carers or early permanence carers (FFA).

We are looking for someone to join as a member to ensure our panel reaches fair and informed recommendation outcomes to a high standard.

We are seeking applicants who have an understanding of the adoption or fostering process from professional or personal experience, or experience in relation to children and young people with complex needs. We have diverse applicants and are therefore seeking panel members who reflect the breadth of diversity in our children and applicants. We would love to hear from you if you can bring different experiences, knowledge and perspectives to our panel member group. In particular, we are actively working to ensure that equality and inclusion is embedded in everything that we do.

To support this objective, we are working proactively to develop a panel member group that it is representative of our diverse service users. We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, cultures and levels of experience to apply for this role.
